Sean Longstaff says Leeds United need to build on their win over Tottenham after marking his 200th Premier League appearance with three points at Elland Road.
The midfielder praised the impact of Harry Wilson and Noah Okafor, whose combination from the bench settled Saturday’s game. He also said Leeds must find ways to give Wilson the ball in more dangerous areas.
Longstaff’s reaction shifts the focus from the 1-0 victory over Spurs to what comes next. The result ended a difficult run before the international break, but he warned against treating one win as enough.

Longstaff wants Leeds to get more from Wilson
In his post-match interview with the club, Longstaff pointed to Wilson’s Premier League experience and the quality he can bring in the final third.
His message was that having that quality in the squad is only part of the job. Leeds also need to supply Wilson in positions where he can hurt opponents.
That happened when Daniel Farke introduced Wilson and Okafor in the second half. Wilson’s flick released his fellow substitute, who controlled the ball and finished past Antonín Kinský.
Longstaff praised Okafor’s power, dribbling and finish. For him, the two substitutes showed the options Leeds can call on when they need to change a game.
A proud milestone for Longstaff
The afternoon also brought a personal landmark. Longstaff made his 200th appearance in the Premier League and came close to adding a goal to the occasion.
He brought down a cross and shot quickly on the turn, forcing Kinský to tip the ball over. Looking back, the midfielder felt he may have had slightly more time than he realised, while giving the goalkeeper credit for the save.
“Playing 200 times in the Premier League is something you can only dream of as a kid so a big day for me and a proud day for my family,” he said.
Leeds head into the break with a lift
Longstaff described Tottenham as one of the league’s in-form teams and saw matching them across the pitch as an important step for Leeds.
He said a win before the break gives players confidence, whether they are leaving for international duty or staying with the club. It also gives them a positive result to return to when the squad comes back together.
There was no suggestion from Longstaff that the work is finished. His priority is to follow this result with more wins, rather than get carried away by one afternoon.
