Leeds Plot Shock £21m Swoop for ‘Goal Machine’ as Premier League Return Heats Up

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are looking at a new name to boost their attack, Troy Parrott from AZ Alkmaar. The 23-year-old forward could join Leeds this summer as the club gets ready for their big return to the Premier League.

Parrott has been in great form in the Dutch league. He scored 18 league goals and added more assists this season, catching the eye of clubs around Europe.

Leeds are now thinking about making a move for the striker, who once came through Tottenham’s youth system.

Strong stats make Parrott a top target

Parrott had a slow start in England with a few loan spells, but he’s now shining in Holland. Since joining AZ Alkmaar permanently last year for about £7 million, he’s been one of their key players.

His stats show why Leeds are interested:

  • 45 games played
  • 20 goals scored
  • 5 assists given

He’s quick, sharp in front of goal, and still young. Leeds believe he could grow even more under manager Daniel Farke.

Leeds need a fresh striker

Right now, Leeds have Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe, and young Mateo Joseph in their forward line. But Bamford might leave this summer, opening the door for a new lead striker.

Parrott’s current contract runs until 2029, so AZ Alkmaar won’t let him go easily. Reports say it might take around £17–21 million to bring him to Elland Road. Still, Leeds seem willing to spend big to get the right player.

Jamie Vardy also on Leeds’ radar

Leeds are also looking at Jamie Vardy, the Premier League legend who could become a free agent. Vardy is 37 but still wants to play in the top-flight. Leeds might offer him a short-term deal if they don’t land Parrott.

Whether it’s Parrott or Vardy, Leeds are clearly serious about improving their attack for next season.
