The 22 year-old American International could have a lucky escape out of the Championship, with Fulham’s Marco Silva looking to add the midfielder to their ranks at Craven Cottage.
Aaronson arrived at Elland Road from Red Bull Salzburg for £24.7 million last summer, with a lot influence from the former Leeds Manager Jesse Marsch, who also brought in compatriots Tyler Adams and Weston Mckennie.
Overall, Aaronson endured a difficult first campaign at Elland Road scoring just 1 goal in 40 appearances and 3 assists, not what you expect from a player of his value or expertise.
Leeds United could struggle drastically though with mutiple players including relegation clauses in their contracts. This clause includes Aaronsons contract, stipulating that these players could all depart on loan if the team was relegated from the top flight.
Time is ticking along with assigning a new manager and possible transfers. But the above is a clear reminder of the current state of affairs at Elland Road because of the clear mismanagement of the club and ownership debacle as of late.
