Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been named Leeds United’s Hisense Player of the Match for the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Elland Road, according to the club. The striker took 27% of the supporters’ vote after scoring the equaliser shortly after half-time in Sunday’s Roses derby, and the club’s own match figures help explain why fans picked him.
How Calvert-Lewin won the fan vote
With Leeds trailing at the break, Calvert-Lewin got Elland Road going in the 51st minute. Tarik Muharemović met a corner, the ball ran loose, and the England forward reacted quickest, beating Bryan Mbeumo to it to find the back of the net. The club says the goal set off celebrations around the ground as Daniel Farke’s side fought back, and you can read how the whole afternoon unfolded in our Leeds 1-1 Man Utd match report.
Leeds say he played the full 90 minutes and led the line throughout. Their data has him taking three shots, winning 10 duels, making 16 sprints and reaching a top speed of 33 km/h, while covering 11 kilometres. He also had 42 touches and completed 14 accurate passes, made two defensive actions, one clearance and one recovery, and carried the ball eight times for a total of 80 metres. It is a workmanlike set of numbers for a striker whose job on the day was as much about pressing and duels as about the goal.

Who finished behind him
Jayden Bogle came second with 22% after what the club called another committed performance. Muharemović, whose corner contact led to the goal, finished third on 16%, and Nico Elvedi was fourth with 12%. Between them, the top four took 77% of the vote. Calvert-Lewin’s 27% was a clear lead rather than a landslide.
What it means for Leeds
The point came after a first half in which Leeds went in behind. Farke’s own verdict on the draw is in our piece on his one criticism of the performance, and the build-up is covered in our Leeds v Man Utd preview. Leeds now turn to Sunderland, which we covered in Farke’s Sunderland press conference report.
