Leeds United club statement on supporter medical emergency

by Alex Matthews

A Leeds United club statement has confirmed that a supporter suffered a medical emergency ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United at Elland Road.

The club published the statement on Monday. It says fellow supporters, stewards and medics responded quickly before ambulance staff took the individual to hospital, where they remain in a critical condition.

“The club is grateful for the rapid action of our stewards and medical support team and appreciates the many notes of interest and support that have been sent in the past 24 hours,” the statement read.
