Leeds junior interview competition: Thorp Arch chance

by Alex Matthews

A Leeds junior interview competition is giving one young supporter the chance to visit Thorp Arch and put questions to first-team players with LUTV.

The club has opened the opportunity to junior My Leeds Members and Season Ticket Holders. Entries close at 5pm on Monday 19 October.

How the Leeds junior interview competition works

Entrants need to record a video lasting no more than 40 seconds. It must explain why they would be the best candidate for the role and include the four questions they would ask the players.

The winner will experience a day in the life of a LUTV presenter at the training ground. Leeds say the visit will include the opportunity to interview some of the first-team squad.

The official competition announcement sets out the entry requirements and directs eligible supporters to the members’ and season-ticket holders’ offers page to complete the form.

That announcement is the place to start for the entry route. Applicants should use the club’s form rather than send their video or personal details to an unofficial account.

Who can enter and when is the deadline?

The Leeds junior interview competition is open only to junior My Leeds Members and Season Ticket Holders. The club will contact the winner by email.

The key requirements are straightforward:

  • Be an eligible junior My Leeds Member or Season Ticket Holder.
  • Keep the video to 40 seconds or less.
  • Explain why you would suit the presenter role.
  • Include four questions for the players.
  • Submit the entry before Monday’s 5pm deadline.

The club has not named which players the winner will interview in its announcement. It also does not give a date for the visit, so supporters should not assume a particular player or day is guaranteed.

For an eligible young fan, it is a chance to see the training ground from a different angle and plan the questions they would normally only get to hear a presenter ask.
