Elland Road Explodes with Buzz: Leeds Eye Powerful Hitman Compared to Haaland

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are not done with their summer business. Even after bringing in Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer, the club are still looking hard for another striker.

Manager Daniel Farke and the 49ers board know the team needs more firepower if they are to survive in the Premier League this season.

Reports now say that Leeds are looking at Ermedin Demirović, the 27-year-old forward from Stuttgart.

Many believe the Bosnian striker has qualities that can be compared to Erling Haaland of Manchester City. For a side like Leeds, this is exciting news.

Why Demirović Looks Like a “Mini-Haaland”

Calvert-Lewin has struggled with injuries and poor form in recent years, which makes fans worry about depending on him for a full season.

Joel Piroe has scored goals, but the Dutchman does not have the same physical style needed to fight every week in the top flight.

Demirović, however, stands out. His numbers are strong, and when compared with other top strikers, the only names close to him are Robert Lewandowski and Haaland. That shows the level he is working at.

He scores often, with a record of around 0.64 goals per 90 minutes, which puts him near the top in Europe’s best leagues.

He also makes his presence felt in the box with over six touches in the opposition area each game. He is always active, always moving, and always looking to shoot.

Just like Haaland, Demirović creates chances as well. He averages over two shot-creating actions per match, almost the same as Haaland.

He is not scared to fire at goal either, taking more than three shots each game, and many of those are on target.

Upgrade on Calvert-Lewin

Calvert-Lewin brings Premier League experience, but his record is not impressive in recent years.

He has only managed 17 league goals across the last four seasons combined. For a club needing goals to survive, that is not enough.

Demirović, on the other hand, has been far more consistent. He scored 15 goals in back-to-back Bundesliga seasons.

What makes it more impressive is that last year he did it in only 20 starts, showing he can make a big impact even without playing every minute.

His conversion rate is much higher than Calvert-Lewin’s, which proves he is more reliable when chances come his way.

What It Means for Leeds

If Leeds United manage to bring in Demirović, it would be a huge boost for the club.

He could be the striker to lead the line, while Calvert-Lewin could still play an important role from the bench with his aerial ability.

The Premier League is a tough place, and Leeds need a forward who can bully defenders and score goals week after week. Demirović looks like that man.

Compared to Haaland in style, and with the numbers to back it up, he might just be the signing that helps Leeds stay in the division and grow stronger.
