Leeds United could be set for another big signing before the transfer window closes, with Sky Sports reporter Mark McAdam saying the club are now eyeing Bournemouth defender James Hill.
The Whites have already been busy in the market, but Daniel Farke still wants one more man for the back line.
Farke wants more cover in defence
Leeds have made nine signings already this summer, but it looks like the boss is not done yet.
Farke is said to be a big fan of Hill, who can play both centre-back and right-back.
That kind of versatility is exactly what Leeds need, with the Premier League season looking tough.
Hill has less than a year left on his deal at Bournemouth, which could make it easier for Leeds to get him.
Farke likes his style of play and believes he can add quality and balance to the defence.
Reports suggest the manager is pushing for at least one more defensive signing before the deadline day on 1 September.
Hill’s experience in the top flight
The 23-year-old has already had a taste of Premier League football. Last season he made 10 appearances for Bournemouth under manager Andoni Iraola.
He even came off the bench in the 4-2 defeat to Liverpool on the opening day this campaign, showing he is still in the picture at the south coast club.
Hill has played 25 senior games in total for Bournemouth, with 16 of those coming in the Premier League.
He even managed an assist in a 2-2 draw against Fulham last December, proving he can contribute going forward as well as defending.
He also spent time out on loan at Hearts in Scotland and Blackburn Rovers in the Championship, building his experience.
Busy summer at Elland Road
It has been a very busy window for Leeds. The Whites have already brought in the likes of Noah Okafor from AC Milan, Lukas Nmecha, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in attack.
In midfield, they have signed Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff, while left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson has come in from Lille.
Still, Farke feels the squad needs another defensive option, especially someone who can cover the right side.
Hill ticks that box and at 23, he still has plenty of years ahead of him to develop.
Could Hill be the next man through the door?
With the deadline only weeks away, Leeds are expected to make their move soon.
If they can strike a deal with Bournemouth, Hill could be wearing the white shirt before the end of the month.
It would be another big statement from the club, who are clearly not holding back in this transfer window.
Fans will now be watching closely to see if this deal happens.
With the season just starting, adding a young but Premier League-ready defender like Hill could be the boost Farke’s side need for a strong campaign.
