Leeds United winger Largie Ramazani is set to depart the club for La Liga in the coming days.
With so many arrivals this summer, it was expected that some faces would be leaving West Yorkshire before the end of this summer’s transfer window to help with net spending.
One move that is expected to accelerate over the coming days in Ramazani’s departure to La Liga side Valencia, which will initially be a loan-to-buy option.
Limited Chances For Ramazani Seals Leeds Fate
Ramazani was an unused substitute in the 1-0 win against Everton, and did not make the matchday squad in the 5-0 loss to Arsenal.
With the loan deal looming close to completion, the former Manchester United academy player could not make the matchday squad again in the EFL Cup second round exit against rivals Sheffield Wednesday.
The signing of Noah Okafor, along with strikers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha – both of whom are able to play in the left wing role, has placed Ramazani further down in the pecking order.
Ramazani only arrived to The Whites last summer from Almeria, but has found his opportunities at the club limited under manager Daniel Farke.
Mainly used as a left winger, Ramazani often came off the bench as an impact substitute.
He shone during glimpses, but only played 783 minutes in the Championship last season across 29 appearances.
Ramazani’s best return being in a 4-0 thumping of Bristol City where he bagged a brace.
A Second Chance In Spain
Having joined from Almeria, the Belgian found his groove in Spain’s top division soon after his departure from Manchester United.
Almeria were relegated from La Liga after finishing 19th in 2023/24, so a call back to England in the Championship was tempting to the player at the time.
He was a spark in a turgid season for Almeria that year, but this time around he will get a chance to shine under former Leeds U23’s manager Carlos Corberan, who is head coach at Valencia.
According to TransferMarkt, Ramazani has a market value of around £6.5m. As the story develops in coming days, more details will be presented as to whether the deal will involve a fixed obligation or option to buy price.
If he is able to get regular minutes in a young Valencia side, Ramazani could be an asset for a reviving Valencia team after financial troubles.
Most of all for Leeds fans, there will be hope that this is not a deal done prematurely that the club regrets in the next few years.
