Billionaire-Backed Giants Strike Fresh Deal with Leeds United in Major Boost for Club

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are going through a tricky time after the summer transfer window closed with no new signings on deadline day.

Fans were left angry and worried, but managing director Robbie Evans has now spoken out to explain the situation.

At the same time, Leeds have confirmed that smart-home company BOXT will stay on as an official partner, bringing some positive news for the club.

Robbie Evans Defends Leeds Owners

Supporters had hoped to see one or two more fresh faces before the window shut, but nothing happened.

That led to a lot of frustration online and in the stands.

Speaking to the local media, Evans said fans should not doubt the effort or investment of the 49ers group, who own the club.

He explained that the club are already putting huge amounts of money in, more than any owners before.

Evans made it clear the aim each year is to push spending limits within PSR (Profitability and Sustainability Rules), but that doesn’t mean the club can buy players without care.

“Everyone assumes that cash is infinite,” Evans said. “We’re injecting tons of cash, far more than any ownership group has before.”

BOXT Signs New Deal with Leeds

While transfer frustration lingers, there is some good news off the pitch.

Local business BOXT, a smart-home systems installer, have agreed to continue their partnership with Leeds United for the 2025/26 season.

BOXT used to be the main shirt sponsor before Red Bull replaced them, but the company will still play a big role in the community side of the club.

They will support the Leeds United Foundation and Soccer Camps, giving more children in the city the chance to get into sport.

Mel Butler, CEO of BOXT, said he was delighted to keep working with Leeds: “We are excited to announce our continued partnership. We remain committed to the Soccer Camps and look forward to another strong year with Leeds United. As a proud Leeds company, we are thrilled to strengthen our connection with the fans.”

A Local Link That Matters

BOXT started as a small challenger brand back in 2017, but it has grown into a nationwide company with over 15,000 engineers.

Backed by billionaire investors at Brookfield, the company continues to expand.

For Leeds, keeping close ties with a local firm shows the club still values its roots, even while global brands like Red Bull and Adidas dominate the big sponsorship deals.

The fans may still feel upset about the lack of new players, but Evans’ words and BOXT’s renewal offer a reminder that Leeds are still moving forward.

On the pitch, Daniel Farke’s side now need to turn focus back to results.

Off the pitch, the club continue to build strong links with businesses that believe in Leeds and its supporters.
