Leeds United on the Brink of £25m Premier League Striker Coup After Green Light Approval

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are ready to make a big move in the transfer market as they close in on signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free deal.

The 28-year-old striker left Everton this summer and has now agreed terms with Leeds.

The club wants to strengthen the attack before the transfer deadline on 1 September, and this could be the first step.

Calvert-Lewin is having his medical at Thorp Arch today.

If all goes well, he will sign his contract and could even be in the squad to face Everton in the Premier League opener at Elland Road on Monday night.

That means he could take on his old team straight away.

Leeds Want More Than One Striker

Even though Calvert-Lewin is coming in, Leeds boss Daniel Farke knows he needs more firepower.

Calvert-Lewin has had injury problems in the past, so the club wants to sign another striker before the deadline.

They also hope to bring in a winger and an attacking midfielder.

One player on their radar is Fotis Ioannidis from Panathinaikos.

But Leeds are also looking at forwards who already have Premier League experience, which could make them more ready to play right away.

Leeds Given Chance to Sign Everton’s Beto

Leeds might also have a chance to sign Beto, another Everton striker.

Reports say Everton have told the 27-year-old he can find a new club this summer.

His pre-season form hasn’t impressed manager David Moyes, who is said to be unhappy with his attitude and how he follows instructions on the pitch.

Everton paid around £25m for Beto, but Leeds are unlikely to match that price.

A loan deal with an option to buy could be a smarter way to get him. His size and power could suit Farke’s style, especially with Leeds building a strong, physical team for the Premier League.

Final Push Before Deadline

With just weeks left until the transfer window shuts, Leeds are moving quickly.

Calvert-Lewin looks set to arrive first, but there could be more signings on the way.

Ioannidis, Mitrović, and Beto are all possible names to watch.

If Leeds can land two strikers and strengthen in wide areas, they could start the season with a squad ready to compete and score plenty of goals.
