Leeds United are getting serious this summer as they plan to clear out as many as 10 players from the squad.
The goal is simply to make space and raise cash for some new big signings before the new Premier League season kicks off.
Daniel Farke has already brought in four fresh faces, Lukas Nmecha, Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
But fans still want more, and rightly so. Leeds still need a proper striker, a new goalkeeper, and a playmaker in the number 10 role.
10 Players Up for Sale
According to The Athletic, Leeds are ready to say goodbye to 10 players, including some big names.
Jack Harrison is one of them. He’s just come back from two years on loan at Everton, but the 49ers aren’t too happy he used his loan clause twice to leave.
Now, they want to sell him for around £10million.
Goalkeeper Illan Meslier is also on the exit list. Others like Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood, and Joe Gelhardt, all spent time on loan have been told they won’t be in Farke’s Premier League plans.
Young lads Charlie Crew and Sam Chambers might go out on loan to gain experience, while Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph, and Isaac Schmidt could be sold if the right offers come in.
Harrison’s Time Is Up
Pundit Paul Robinson reckons Harrison won’t be given another shot at Elland Road.
Even though Everton are still looking for wingers, they might not come back for him. Leeds want to move on, and so should Harrison.
Robinson said, “His bridges have been burnt at Leeds. He went out to Everton twice. Leeds have moved on.”
Transfer Race Still On
Leeds haven’t given up on Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff. They’ve already had three bids turned down and are deciding whether to make a fourth.
Meanwhile, a new bid for Hoffenheim’s Anton Stach could be next, as the German midfielder is seen as a top target.
Striker Rodrigo Muniz was another option, but Spurs got scared off by Fulham’s high price tag. Lecce forward Nikola Krstovic was also linked, but he’s likely heading to Roma.
With 35 days left before the season opener against Everton, the 49ers need to act fast. More ins and outs are on the way at Elland Road.
