Leeds United have started the new season with some good and some bad moments.
The team has shown fight, but also there are problems that need to be fixed fast.
Fans have seen enough to believe the club can stay strong, but they also know the side needs more help if they want to climb the Premier League table.
Mixed Start for the Whites
After four league games, Leeds sit with four points. That is not too bad, but not perfect either.
At home they look hard to beat, like when they kept Newcastle United to a 0-0 draw.
But away from home, things have been more difficult. The 5-0 loss to Arsenal was a big blow, and getting knocked out of the EFL Cup by Sheffield Wednesday was a shock for everyone.
These results show Leeds can fight, but also that more work is needed.
The team is strong in defence at times, but the main worry is scoring goals. In the first four games, Leeds only scored two goals, and one of them was a penalty.
That is not good enough for a club that wants to stay safe in the Premier League.
Transfer Window Disappointment
Fans hoped for new signings on deadline day, but nothing big happened. Leeds tried to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham, but that deal collapsed late on.
With the window now closed, the only option left is the free agent market. One name on the list is Josh Brownhill, who left Burnley after scoring 18 goals last season.
He is wanted by many clubs, but Leeds could be in the race. The only problem is his high wage demands, as reports say he has had offers of £100,000-a-week abroad.
Leeds Set to Hire a Set-Piece Coach
Even though the transfer window was a letdown, Leeds are planning something new. For the first time under Daniel Farke, the club will hire a set-piece coach.
This is huge news because set-pieces are so important in modern football.
Last season Leeds scored 13 goals from corners and free-kicks, but a lot of that was thanks to Joe Rothwell’s deliveries. With him gone, the team has lost that edge.
Bringing in a coach who is a specialist in this area could help Leeds score more goals without relying only on strikers.
Farke knows the team needs every possible way to find the net, especially after the poor start in front of goal.
Why This Move Matters
Every big Premier League club now has a set-piece coach. It can be the difference between winning and losing in tight games.
Leeds need more goals, and if the strikers are struggling, then corners and free-kicks could become the secret weapon.
For the fans, this feels like a smart step after a frustrating summer. If the club also manages to sign Brownhill, then Leeds could be in a stronger place to push forward after the international break.
