Leeds United had to really fight for their place in the next round of the FA Cup after a hard game against Birmingham City.
It was not easy at all. The match finished level and had to be decided on penalties, but the Whites kept their cool and got the job done in the end.
It was a night full of drama at St Andrew’s. Sean Longstaff scored the winning penalty and held his nerve when it mattered most. Also, goalkeeper Lucas Perri made big saves in normal time and in the shootout.
Some fans had questioned him in recent weeks, but he answered back in the best way possible.
Now, though, the focus moves away from the cup and back to the Premier League. And manager Daniel Farke has shared some worrying news about two important players.
Injury Blow for Noah Okafor and Daniel James
After the match, Farke spoke about the fitness of Noah Okafor and Daniel James.
Daniel James was not even in the squad for the trip to Birmingham. Supporters were asking why he was missing, and now we know the reason.
Farke explained that the winger has been dealing with a back injury. The manager said he hopes it is not serious, but it is still something that needs checking.
James has had a stop-start season with injuries. When he plays, he brings speed and energy to the side. He runs at defenders and stretches teams with his pace.

Without him, Leeds can look a bit flat going forward. So fans will be hoping this back problem clears up quickly.
Noah Okafor also caused concern during the game. The Swiss forward had to come off because he felt something in his hamstring. Farke said it could just be a
cramp, but it is too early to be sure.
Hamstring injuries can be tricky, and Leeds will not want to take any risks.
Okafor has had pressure on him since arriving at the club. Some supporters feel he has not fully shown his best form yet.
But he is still an important part of the squad. He can score goals, create chances, and give Leeds something different in attack.
Big Test Coming at Villa Park
Leeds now turn their attention to a tough Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Villa Park next weekend. That will be a massive game.
The Premier League is the main priority. Survival is key for Leeds this season. While a good FA Cup run is exciting, staying in the top flight is what really matters for the club’s future.
Farke knows this. He has been calm and careful with his players all season. He does not want to rush anyone back too soon. That is why he took Okafor off quickly and did not risk James at all.
Leeds have shown fighting spirit in recent weeks. Even when performances have not been perfect, they have battled hard. The win over Birmingham proved they can handle pressure, even in a tense penalty shootout.
But the league is a different challenge. Villa Park is not an easy place to go. Leeds will need their strongest team available. Having James and Okafor fit would be a big boost.
Farke Staying Positive
After the match, Farke tried to stay positive. He said it is too early to know the full damage.
The club will monitor both players over the next few days. More updates are expected later in the week when the manager speaks to the media again.
For now, Leeds fans must wait and hope the news improves.
The good thing is that the squad showed character. Players stepped up when needed. Longstaff showed courage from the spot. Perri proved his worth in goal. The team spirit is clearly there.
If Leeds can get their key men back fit and firing, they have a real chance to finish the season strong. The next few days will be important.
One thing is certain, Daniel Farke will be working hard behind the scenes to make sure his squad is ready for the fight ahead.
