Dean Saunders Drops Bombshell on £12m Leeds Target: Says He’s Miles Better Than Joe Rodon!

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United have got some top Wales football players in their side, including Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, and Dan James.

But former Wales striker Dean Saunders has now made a big claim, saying that Harry Wilson is even better than all of them.

The ex-Dean Saunders footballer turned pundit spoke on talkSPORT and said Wilson is the most important player for Wales right now.

That’s a big shout considering how strong Leeds players like Joe Rodon Leeds and Ampadu have been this season.

Saunders praises Harry Wilson over Joe Rodon and Dan James

Saunders said that Harry Wilson, who plays for Fulham, is the real star for Wales.

He talked about how Wilson always makes things happen, scoring goals or creating them.

According to him, Wilson has something special that makes him stand out.

He said: “Harry Wilson is our best player. Every time I watch him, he either scores or sets up a goal. He’s silky on the ball and makes a difference.”

That’s big praise, especially since Joe Rodon Leeds has been one of the top defenders both for club and country.

Many fans believe Rodon is the heart of Leeds’ defence under Daniel Farke. But Saunders clearly feels Wilson is more important to the Welsh team.

Leeds keeping an eye on Harry Wilson

Leeds United are said to be watching Wilson closely again after missing out on signing him before.

The 28-year-old joined Fulham from Liverpool for £12 million back in 2021, but a move to Leeds could give him more first-team chances.

If Wilson joins, he would fit right in with the United football players who already know him well from Wales duty, Joe Rodon, Ethan Ampadu, and Dan James. That connection could help him settle quickly at Elland Road.

Wilson defends Ampadu after tough loss

After Wales’ 4-2 defeat to Belgium, Wilson was quick to defend his teammate Ethan Ampadu, saying the penalty given against him was harsh.

It showed the strong bond between the Welsh lads, something that’s also clear when they play together for Leeds.

Wilson said, “I’ve not seen the penalty but it looked unlucky. Ethan was just moving side to side and it hit his hand.”

This kind of support shows how close the Welsh players are both for the national team and at Leeds United.

It’s clear that Dean Saunders footballer believes Harry Wilson is the star man for Wales right now. But Joe Rodon Leeds and the other Leeds players like Ampadu and James remain key for both club and country.

If Leeds do manage to bring Wilson in, they’ll have one of the most exciting groups of Wales football players in England and Daniel Farke will have a strong Welsh core to build around.
