Leeds United Told Shock £25m Price for Star Striker: Fans Won’t Believe It!

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United have been looking for a new striker this summer. The club has been linked with many names, from big Premier League players like Jamie Vardy and Callum Wilson, to young forwards like Evan Ferguson, Josh Sargent, and Cameron Archer.

But one name that stood out in the last few weeks is Troy Parrott. The 23-year-old striker from the Republic of Ireland has just finished a great season with Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

He scored 20 goals and made headlines in the Netherlands. Because of this, many English clubs started to watch him, including Leeds United and Wolves.

Who is Troy Parrott?

Troy Parrott started his career at Tottenham Hotspur. He didn’t get much time in the first team and was sent out on loan a few times.

Last year, he made a full move to AZ Alkmaar in Holland. It was a big change for him, but he did very well there.

Scoring 20 goals in one season is not easy, and that got many clubs interested in him again.

He is now 23 years old and has also played for the Republic of Ireland national team. Parrott is known for his speed, good finishing, and movement in the box.

He looks ready for a return to England, but the price could be a big problem.

AZ Want Big Money

Reports from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf say that AZ Alkmaar are asking for £25 million for Parrott.

This is a big price for a player they only bought for around £3 million last year. AZ think they can make a big profit, but Leeds United don’t want to pay that much.

The Leeds board have made it clear they won’t pay £25 million. That price is too high for a player who hasn’t proven himself in the Premier League.

Even though he had one strong season in the Dutch league, he still has a lot to prove. Leeds feel the asking price is not fair, and they don’t want to take that kind of risk.

What Happens Now?

Right now, it looks like Leeds will not try to sign Troy Parrott unless AZ drop their asking price.

The club will keep looking at other strikers who may be cheaper or more experienced in English football.

Fans were excited about the idea of Parrott joining, but at £25 million, it’s a deal that doesn’t make much sense for a club like Leeds.

The Whites will likely move on to other targets as they prepare for the new season.
