Forget Okafor & Stach: Leeds’ Real Star at Wolves Was Farke’s 9/10 Warrior

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United finally gave fans something to cheer about as they smashed Wolves 3-1 at Molineux, with three new summer signings all finding the net.

After a slow start to the season, Daniel Farke’s side showed fight, quality and spirit to grab a much-needed win.

Leeds hit back after early scare

The game didn’t begin well for the Whites, as Ladislav Krejci put Wolves in front early on. Leeds fans feared the worst, especially after recent struggles in front of goal.

But Dominic Calvert-Lewin quickly gave the team hope. The striker, who joined from Everton in the summer, scored his first Leeds goal with a strong header from a Jayden Bogle cross.

That goal lifted the whole team, and soon Leeds were on top. Midfielder Anton Stach stepped up with a brilliant free-kick to make it 2-1.

His strike gave Leeds full control and showed exactly why he was signed.

Okafor gets his first goal

Just before half-time, Swiss forward Noah Okafor added a third to seal the result. He finished calmly after being played through by Stach, showing pace and sharp movement.

Okafor also worked hard on the wing, completing six dribbles and always looking dangerous. His goal and energy made him a standout in attack.

Gudmundsson earns big praise

While the new boys grabbed the headlines, Gabriel Gudmundsson also earned huge credit.

After his unlucky own goal against Fulham, many thought he might struggle. But against Wolves, he was rock solid.

Gudmundsson won key duels, made eight clearances and looked calm on the ball. He completed 44 of his 51 passes and even launched a few accurate long balls to start attacks.

Journalist Beren Cross called him “Leeds’ best player” on the day, while Graham Smyth gave him a glowing 9/10 rating.

Big boost for Farke

This win came at the perfect time for Leeds. The team had only scored once in their first four league games, but now confidence is back.

With Calvert-Lewin, Stach and Okafor all off the mark, and Gudmundsson proving his worth, Farke can finally look forward with some belief.

Leeds still need to improve consistency, but this result showed the potential of the squad.

If they can build on this, the Whites could start climbing the table and give fans the exciting football they’ve been craving.
