Daniel Farke deserves huge credit for the way he has steadied the ship at Leeds United in recent weeks. Not long ago, many fans and pundits believed the Whites were heading for serious trouble. Results were poor, confidence was low, and the fixture list looked brutal.
After the international break, Leeds were handed one of the toughest runs in the league. Games against Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City came one after the other. On top of that, reports suggested Farke’s job was under real threat.
But instead of folding under pressure, Leeds responded in the best possible way.
Farke’s Tactical Changes Spark Leeds Revival
Leeds went into this run with very little expectation. Even getting a point from those matches felt unlikely. Yet the performances told a very different story.
At Manchester City, Leeds were seconds away from pulling off a famous draw at the Etihad before Phil Foden struck late to break White hearts. Despite the loss, the display gave the belief that Leeds were moving in the right direction.
That belief turned into real points against Chelsea. Farke switched to a 3-5-2 system and shocked Enzo Maresca’s side with a brilliant 3-1 win. Leeds looked organised, aggressive and confident, everything they had been missing earlier in the season.
The real test came when Liverpool arrived at Elland Road.

Leeds Refuse to Lie Down Against Liverpool
Liverpool started strongly and looked in control early in the second half. When they went 2-0 up, many inside Elland Road feared the worst.
But Farke reacted quickly.

He changed the shape, took off a defender and went to a back four. That decision changed the flow of the game. Leeds pushed higher, moved the ball quicker, and the crowd sensed something special could happen.
Leeds fought back with real hunger. Goals came, pressure grew, and when Ao Tanaka scored late on to make it 3-3, Elland Road exploded.
It was not just a draw. It felt like a statement.
Liverpool Players Left Unhappy After Final Whistle
The drama did not end when the referee blew for full-time.
After the match, Liverpool boss Arne Slot suggested Leeds did not deserve the result. But even more interesting details emerged days later about what happened after the game.
Commentator Bryn Law revealed that Liverpool players were unhappy with how Leeds celebrated the draw. According to Law, there was frustration and complaining from the Reds players as they walked down the tunnel.
They questioned why Leeds players and fans were celebrating “just a draw”.
But that reaction missed the point completely.
Leeds Celebrations Were About Belief, Not Arrogance
For Leeds United, that draw meant far more than one point.
It came after beating Chelsea. It came after pushing Manchester City to the edge. And it went against the Premier League champions, after being two goals down.
Elland Road was loud because the fans could see progress. They could see a fight. They could see a team that finally believes it belongs at this level.
Liverpool players do not get to decide how Leeds react. Football is about moments, emotions and context. For Leeds, that night represented hope and momentum.
Celebrating that does not make Leeds arrogant. It shows unity.

Farke Winning Back Trust at Elland Road
The biggest winner from this run of games is Daniel Farke himself.
Only weeks ago, many believed he would not survive this period. Now, he has earned breathing space and backing from the fans.
His tactical bravery, calm decision-making and willingness to change systems mid-game have turned results around. Players look more confident, the crowd is fully behind the team again, and belief is growing week by week.
Leeds are not perfect. There are still issues to fix. But one thing is clear, this team will not go down quietly.

Leeds United Moving in the Right Direction
The tunnel reaction from Liverpool players only underlines how far Leeds have come. Large teams tend to resist being pushed. They do not like losing control. And they certainly do not like seeing underdogs celebrate.
But Leeds earned that moment.
If they continue playing with this spirit, organisation and belief, more results will follow. And if that annoys a few big clubs along the way, Leeds fans will not mind one bit.
Elland Road believes again. And that matters.
