Leeds United Stand Firm on £13m Star as Club Makes Bold Transfer Call

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are busy this summer, and they’re not done yet.

After spending over £75 million on seven new signings, the Whites are now focused on bringing in attacking players before the transfer window shuts in a month.

So far, Leeds have added defenders, midfielders, a new goalkeeper in Lucas Perri, and free agent striker Lukas Nmecha.

But with midfield and defence sorted, it’s clear the club now want more firepower up front.

One name on their radar is Leicester City’s attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss.

Reports say Leeds are ready to pay his full release clause of £24.5 million to bring him to Elland Road.

Mateo Joseph Wants Spain Move

But while Leeds are looking to bring players in, one young striker is trying to leave.

Mateo Joseph, the Spain Under-21 striker, has told the club he wants to move back to Spain this summer.

He has handed in a transfer request and didn’t turn up for pre-season training with the rest of the squad.

This move has left the club disappointed and frustrated.

Joseph had a good season last year, making 39 appearances under manager Daniel Farke.

Farke clearly trusted him, and Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe is also a big fan of the young striker.

Leeds Not Ready to Let Go

Even though Joseph wants to leave, the club is not ready to lose him for good.

Leeds believe he still has a big future and are only willing to let him leave on a simple loan deal.

They don’t want to add any option or obligation to buy in the loan, they want full control over his future.

Spanish side Real Betis have already tried to sign Joseph, but their bid included a chance to make the move permanent, and Leeds rejected it.

The Whites are standing firm. If Joseph does go, it will be on their terms.

What Happens Next?

The situation is tense. Leeds are unhappy with Joseph’s behaviour but still believe in his talent.

It looks like the drama could carry on for a while, and his future might not be sorted until the final days of the transfer window.

For now, it’s clear Leeds want to keep hold of the young striker, even if he goes on loan. But one thing is sure, this story isn’t over yet.
