Leeds United handed boost as exciting Manor Solomon return edges closer

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United fans are finally starting to feel positive again after a tough spell earlier in the season.

Just a few weeks ago, things looked very dark at Elland Road, with defeats piling up and serious questions being asked about survival in the Premier League.

But football can change very quickly. A huge home win against Chelsea, followed by a dramatic draw against Liverpool, has changed the mood around the club.

Leeds have shown fight, belief and togetherness again, and that has given Daniel Farke and his players real momentum going into a crucial period.

With Leeds now sitting outside the relegation zone, attention is slowly turning towards the January transfer window, where reinforcements could play a big role in keeping the club in the Premier League.

Leeds United Show Real Fight in Recent Matches

Before the Chelsea game, Leeds were on a terrible run. Six defeats in seven matches had left them deep in trouble, and confidence was low across the squad.

But when Chelsea arrived at Elland Road, Farke’s side produced one of their best performances of the season.

Leeds pressed hard, played with energy, and earned a deserved 3-1 win. That result alone lifted belief.

Then came the visit of Liverpool, a game where Leeds showed real character. They went behind early, then fell back again later in the match, but never gave up.

A late equaliser with the final kick of the game earned Leeds a point that felt almost like a win.

Those four points have pushed Leeds up to 16th place, now two points clear of the relegation zone.

Upcoming fixtures against Brentford, Crystal Palace and Sunderland give Leeds a real chance to build on this run before the transfer window opens.

Door Opens for Manor Solomon Return to Elland Road

One name that has quickly brought excitement back to Leeds fans is Manor Solomon.

The winger was a huge fan favourite during his loan spell in the Championship, where his goals and assists helped Leeds secure promotion.

Solomon delivered big moments, including a title-winning goal on the final day of the season.

Many supporters hoped he would return permanently, but instead he joined Tottenham and was later loaned to Villarreal in Spain.

His time in La Liga has not gone to plan. He has struggled for minutes, started a few matches, and failed to settle properly.

Because of that, reports now suggest Villarreal may end his loan early in January.

If that happens, Leeds United are believed to be seriously considering bringing him back to Elland Road.

With Daniel James injured and other wide players lacking consistency, Solomon could offer pace, creativity and proven output straight away.

For Leeds, a player who already knows the club and understands the fans could be a smart and low-risk move.

Striker Links Cool as Other Options Considered

Leeds have also been linked with striker moves, but not every rumour looks likely.

Josh Sargent was strongly linked in the summer due to his past relationship with Daniel Farke at Norwich City.

However, recent developments suggest a January move is unlikely.

Sargent has struggled for form, Norwich are fighting their own battles, and the striker is currently dealing with injury issues.

Meanwhile, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha have both scored recently.

While neither has been perfect, their recent contributions may reduce the urgency for Leeds to rush into a striker signing next month.

Leeds will still be monitoring the market, but any move will need to be smart and affordable.

January Window Could Decide Leeds’ Season

There is no doubt that January will be massive for Leeds United. The club has momentum now, but the Premier League is unforgiving, and depth will be needed to survive.

Daniel Farke has steadied the ship, and the players have responded. Now, recruitment decisions could make or break the season.

A return for Manor Solomon, or a similar wide option, could give Leeds the spark they need in tight games.

For the first time in weeks, Leeds fans can look ahead with belief rather than fear. The fight is far from over, but Elland Road finally feels alive again.
