Hero Perri Sends Leeds to Wembley as Player Ratings Reveal Big Winners and Flops

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are heading to Wembley after one of the most dramatic FA Cup games fans will ever see. It was a match full of twists, late goals, and big pressure moments, but in the end, Leeds got the job done.

This is the first time in 39 years that Leeds have reached the semi-final, and they did it the hard way against West Ham United.

Leeds Looked Comfortable Before Late Collapse

Leeds started the game well and took control early. Ao Tanaka gave them the lead with a calm finish inside the box. It was a smart goal, and Leeds looked confident after that.

Later in the second half, things got even better when Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-0. At that point, the game looked done.

But football can change very fast.

West Ham came back late in the game and scored two quick goals in stoppage time. Matheus Fernandes and Axel Disasi both found the net to shock Leeds.

Extra Time Drama and Penalty Shoot-Out Hero

Extra time was full of tension. West Ham thought they had won it, but two goals were ruled out for offside. Leeds were lucky, but they stayed in the game.

Then came penalties.

This is where Lucas Perri became the hero. He saved two penalties and helped Leeds win the shoot-out.

Leeds fans will not forget this night.

Player Ratings

Lucas Perri: 8

Made some very good saves during the game. Saved two penalties in the shoot-out and became the hero. One mistake in extra time, but still top performance.

Jayden Bogle: 5

Worked hard but had a tough game. Struggled to stop crosses and did not offer much going forward.

Joe Rodon: 7

Solid at the back before going off injured. Helped keep the defence organised.

Jaka Bijol: 6

Mixed performance. Did some good defending but also struggled when players ran at him.

Pascal Struijk: 6

Good attacking runs early on but made mistakes later. Left space at the back and poor delivery at times.

Ethan Ampadu: 6

Showed fight and leadership. Tried to keep the team together when things got difficult.

Ao Tanaka: 7

Scored the opening goal and played well in midfield. One of the better players on the pitch.

Anton Stach: 7

Strong in midfield and won the ball back many times. Missed a big chance and went off injured.

Noah Okafor: 6

Bright start and got the assist. Quiet in the second half.

Lukas Nmecha: 4

Tried to help but the team lost control late on.

Ilia Gruev: 5

Started well but faded as West Ham pushed forward.

Brenden Aaronson: 6

Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 6

Daniel Farke Deserves Credit

Manager Daniel Farke made key decisions during the game. His team looked strong early, and even after the late collapse, they stayed calm in penalties.

Taking Leeds to Wembley is a big achievement.

What This Means for Leeds

This win is huge for Leeds United. It gives fans hope and something to celebrate after a difficult season.

But the performance also shows problems. The team must improve, especially in defence, if they want to go further.

For now, it is all about Wembley. Leeds is just one step away from something special.
