Leeds United fans were left angry and upset after transfer deadline day.
Many were hoping the club would bring in new strikers and wingers, but the window closed without any fresh attacking faces.
Manager Daniel Farke warned many times in August that the team needed more goalscorers.
He said defence and midfield looked stronger, but the attack was still weak.
After three Premier League games, Leeds only scored once and that was from the penalty spot.
The words of chairman Paraag Marathe now sound empty.
He promised to spend every penny to build a proper Premier League squad.
But the deadline passed, and Leeds missed out on top attacking targets.
Money Talks But Deals Failed
Leeds made big bids for players. They offered more than £26m for Igor Paixão and around £32m for Rodrigo Muniz.
Both deals failed. Instead, the club signed Noah Okafor for £18m and took a gamble on Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a free agent.
Fans are asking where the rest of the money went. If the club had cash for Muniz, why did they end up with cheaper signings?
Many believe the ambition shown in words was not matched by action.
To make matters worse, Leeds lost key men from last season.
Manor Solomon returned to his parent club. Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph, and Largie Ramazani all left.
Letting Ramazani go on loan now looks like a big mistake.

Late Drama But No Happy Ending
In the final hours of deadline day, Leeds tried to sign Harry Wilson from Fulham.
Talks went on all afternoon. They even arranged a flight to bring Wilson from the Wales camp, but delays and cancellations ruined the plan.
Fulham then pulled out before the 7pm deadline. Leeds ended the window with nothing.
Other targets like Facundo Buonanotte slipped away too.
Leeds thought they had him, but Chelsea came in and took the player instead.
For supporters, it feels like the club was always one step behind.
Big Questions For Farke And 49ers
The owners, 49ers Enterprises, now face tough questions.
They said planning for the Premier League started months ago, yet the attack looks weaker than last season.
Farke wanted pace and creativity up front. Instead, he has to work with what he’s got.
Defence and midfield signings look strong, with players like Sean Longstaff, Gabriel Gudmundsson, and Jaka Bijol already showing promise.
But football games are won by goals, and Leeds don’t look dangerous in open play.
If Leeds cannot score more, comparisons with Sunderland’s struggles will keep coming.
The season started okay with four points from three games, but survival will be very hard without goals.
Fans are asking the same question, How did it come to this? The next few months will give the answer.
