Fresh Twist in £25m Igor Paixao Saga: Farke Left Waiting as Transfer Drags On

by Alex Matthews

Leeds United are not giving up on signing Igor Paixao from Feyenoord this summer.

The 25-year-old Brazilian winger has been on Leeds’ radar for weeks, but the transfer saga is not over yet.

Other big clubs, including Marseille, Aston Villa, and Bayer Leverkusen, are also interested. Even Arsenal were linked at one stage.

Paixao is seen as a perfect replacement for Manor Solomon, who returned to Tottenham after his loan spell.

His pace, direct runs, and goals make him a dream signing for Daniel Farke.

Last season, Paixao was outstanding, scoring 18 goals and making 19 assists across all competitions.

Marseille Talks Put Leeds on Alert

Reports say Marseille were close to sealing a deal, but talks have stalled in recent days.

Dutch journalist Mikos Gouka has confirmed that no final agreement has been made.

The French club is holding crunch meetings to push for the deal, but Leeds are still in the fight.

Leeds know they must act quickly before Marseille wraps it up.

Paixao is currently recovering from a minor injury, but that hasn’t stopped clubs from trying to get his signature.

His form over the last two seasons has made him one of the hottest wingers in Europe.

Leeds’ Options Out Wide

At the moment, Leeds have Willy Gnonto, Dan James, Largie Ramazani, and Jack Harrison as their main wingers.

While these players are good enough for the early Premier League games, Leeds want a world-class addition to give them more firepower.

Farke has already made defensive and midfield signings this summer, with Lukas Nmecha being the only attacking addition so far.

Bringing in a winger like Paixao would balance the squad and give Leeds a strong attacking threat on both flanks.

Transfer Plans for the Summer

Leeds are expected to make at least five more signings before the transfer window closes.

A new goalkeeper, another striker, and a creative midfielder are all on the list alongside Paixao.

The club’s transfer budget is healthy, but they need to spend wisely to compete in the Premier League.

Paixao would not only bring goals and assists but also give Leeds the kind of flair they last saw with Raphinha.

Whether Leeds can beat Marseille to the signing remains to be seen, but fans are hopeful that the club will make it happen.
